Collagen production in our skin slows as we age, with most adults losing up to 20% of their natural collagen by the time they’re 40.
Skin boosters, or micro dermal filler, addresses this by improving skin hydration, firmness and luminosity through micro-injections of very soft hyaluronic acid into the skin, acting as a natural moisturiser to stimulate collagen.
The filler is injected superficially into the dermis for improvement in hydration, skin tone and elasticity, correction of superficial lines and the treatment of fine wrinkles such as crows feet and smoke lines on the face and lips, and even the hands.
Skin boosters becoming increasingly popular. Some clinics will suggest a single treatment, but realistically a course of treatments is recommended to see noticeable, long-lasting sustained results.
Skin boosters are a great option for all ages and skin types. They are ideal for clients who don’t have specific skin concerns but are looking to improve their overall skin quality, such as hydration, tone, and texture. After treatment, clients notice a firmer and improved texture of their skin as well as that highly sought-after glowing complexion.
Skin boosting dermal fillers work by delivering a mix of natural acids and glycerol to the deeper layers of the skin. Natural acids attract water to improve the internal hydration of the skin, while also stimulating fibroblasts (cells) to produce new collagen and elastin.
Skin boosters work to stimulate collagen which can increase thickness of the skin, as well as elastin which works to improve elasticity of the skin. The treatment can also work on skin texture and fine lines, while reaching deeper layers of the skin, helping it retail water, resulting in a plump, well-hydrated aesthetic.
This collagen stimulating filler treatment can last between 6 to 9 months, however individual results can vary.
This depends on the extent of ageing in the treated area. Typically a course of three treatments is recommended three to four weeks apart, with around one to two courses per year.
A series of micro-injections are made into the superficial dermis of the treated area. The treatment is relatively comfortable and takes around 20-30 minutes. Depending on the recommended filler type most suitable to the client, it is injected either with a needle, cannula or injecting gun. We offer topical pain relief if required.
